Where to park in Ponte degli Scalzi
The Ponte degli Scalzi is a famous bridge in Venice, located in the historic centre of the lagoon city, which connects the district of Santa Croce to the district of Cannaregio.
Visiting the Ponte degli Scalzi will be really easy during your trip to Venice, since it is located right at the beginning of the historic centre, which as you know is connected to the mainland only by the long Ponte della Libertà and where you cannot circulate by car.
The only way to park near the Ponte degli Scalzi is to park in Piazzale Roma, the last area allowing the circulation of vehicles in the historic centre. This is where there are most of the large car parks in Venice. A cheaper alternative is to park in Mestre, on the mainland, in a car park near Venezia Mestre Station. From here, buses depart all the time and trains reach Venezia Santa Lucia Station in about ten minutes, from which you will be right in front of the Ponte degli Scalzi!
If you are already planning your trip to Venice, there is something you absolutely must do: book a parking space in Venice with Parclick. Venice is always busy, regardless of the time of year. Ponte degli Scalzi
The ‘Station Bridge’
The Ponte degli Scalzi was built between 1932 and 1934. It was a project carried out by the engineer Eugenio Miozzi and the bridge is made entirely of Istrian stone.
It is considered one of the most important bridges in Venice as it is one of the only four bridges in the city that cross the Grand Canal, together with the Ponte della Costituzione, the Ponte di Rialto and the Ponte dell’Accademia.
The Ponte degli Scalzi is also known as the Ponte della Stazione (Station Bridge) or Ponte della Ferrovia (Railway Bridge), due to its proximity to the Venezia Santa Lucia Station.
The Ponte degli Scalzi is also close to several tourist attractions, such as Palazzo Foscari Contarini, the Church of Santa Maria di Nazareth, the Giardini Savorgnan and the Giardini Papadopoli.
Book online with Parclick a parking space near the Ponte degli Scalzi, this way you will have a guaranteed parking space in one of the best car parks of Venice!
