What will traffic be like in Paris during the Olympic Games? All the keys to parking well in Paris during the 2024 Olympics:

To ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, specific measures are being implemented, involving the creation of different perimeters around competition sites, each with appropriate restrictions. These perimeters include an organizer perimeter for competition sites, a security protection perimeter (SILT), and areas where motorized traffic will either be prohibited (red perimeter) or regulated (blue perimeter).

While these measures may impact daily traffic, arrangements are made to minimize disruptions for residents and ensure access for emergency services and other authorized vehicles.

  • Blue Zone:

Similar to the red zone, the blue perimeter is open to pedestrians and cyclists. However, taxis, ride-sharing services, and public transport are allowed to operate. Residents, parking subscribers, and local workers are permitted.

  • Red Zone:

Within this delimited zone, only emergency services and authorized vehicles will be allowed to circulate. Pedestrians and cyclists will have unrestricted access, but ride-sharing services will be limited to authorized routes. Vehicles carrying disabled individuals, as well as those of residents, parking subscribers, private parking holders, and hotel residents, will be permitted. Professionals from the sector will not have access to the red zone.

To help you understand, here is an explanatory diagram of the different zones:

The red and blue perimeters will be in effect from 2:30 hours before the start of the first event until 1 hour after the end of the last event, every competition day, as well as during the opening ceremony.

Simplify your parking during the Olympic Games by choosing Parclick, the ideal solution to navigate regulated areas such as "red" and "blue" zones. With a Parclick parking subscription, park your vehicle with peace of mind. Anticipate parking challenges in Paris and near Olympic venues by leaving your car in fixed parking during the events. Use public transportation, walk, or bike to move easily, then retrieve your vehicle as needed.

Important Information: The Pass Jeux

Obtaining the Pass Jeux

During the Olympic Games in Paris, to navigate in certain secure perimeters, a digital pass called "Pass Jeux" is required. This document, in the form of a QR code, is available on the website of the Paris Police Prefecture: https://www.pass-jeux.gouv.fr/en/. The Pass Jeux is essential for certain users who need access by motorized vehicle to the red zones around the competition sites. These zones are activated 2 hours 30 minutes before each sports session and lifted 1 hour after the end of the last session. Likewise, it is required for those attending the opening ceremony between the 18th and 26th of July, regardless of their mode of transportation. The Pass Jeux is not mandatory in the blue zones, accessible for justified reasons such as access to home, work, or appointments, by presenting a justification.

Eligibility and Exceptions

To obtain the Pass Jeux, it is necessary to meet the eligibility conditions for an exception, as these zones are usually prohibited. Security, service, and passenger transport vehicles, as well as some residents, may be authorized subject to justification. Spectators with a ticket for the opening ceremony are exempt from needing a Pass for that day.

Deadlines and Presentation

It is recommended to submit your request in advance to avoid delays, as processing may take some time. Once your request is approved, your Pass Jeux will be sent to you. It must be presented with an identity document at each access to the red or gray zones, depending on your situation and the current restrictions.

Practical Information

For those attending the opening ceremony, the security perimeters will be active from the 18th to the 26th of July and mainly affect the areas around the Seine. Pedestrians and cyclists must have a QR code until 1:00 p.m., then only residents are affected. Motorized traffic is generally prohibited, except for specific exceptions such as law enforcement or emergency vehicles.

The QR code has never worked in the many times we have parked here but the staff are helpful at sorting this out. Would be nice if you could fix this though as it is quite annoying. Lift is broken half the time.
