The Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione 

The Cirque d'hiver de Paris was built in 1852 by the architect Jacques Hittorff, it was formerly called Cirque Napoléon. Since its purchase in 1934 by the Bouglione family, it has also been known as the Bouglione Winter Circus. The Winter Circus has been declared a historical monument since 10 February 1975. It has a capacity of 1650 people. It was inaugurated by Prince Louis-Napoleon on the 11th of December 1852. On the 28th of October 1934, the four Bouglione brothers bought the Cirque d'hiver. The Bouglione name consequently became inseparable from this mythical place where all the great artists performed.

The 11th arrondissement, once a working-class district, is today a "trendy" district, particularly around the Place de la Bastille with its numerous shopping areas, higher education institutions, the Gare de Lyon and the Bastille Opera House, an ultra-modern construction by the architect Carlos Ott inaugurated in 1989.
