Parking in Cannes Film Festival

Have you decided to come to the Cannes Film Festival by car? What a good idea; it is the fastest, most practical and cheapest way to do it. However, we advise that you take some time to think about where to park in Cannes in advance, or this advantage could quickly turn into a real problem!

To help you out, Parclick offers you two cheap car parks in Cannes, so that you can enjoy the Cannes Film Festival without any hassle.

We don´t really need to remind you that the Cannes Film Festival is an internationally renowned event which attracts thousands of inquisitive people and film enthusiasts, not just from all over France but all corners of the world. A large portion of them will arrive by car and it is highly likely that, for security reasons and to ease the traffic, they will close some of the roads in the centre of Cannes.

The two low-cost car parks in Cannes that Parclick proposes will help you to avoid any problems and ensure that you will be able to park near the Cannes Film Festival.

The République – Cannes car park is close to the centre of Cannes, and in particular the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, where the main body of the Cannes Film Festival can be found, with its famous staircase along which the actors parade as they enter the festival (the so-called Montée des marches). You will also find yourself close to many of the shops, including the Gambetta market, a Carrefour and the Gallerie Lafayette – all the while remaining in the area around Cannes Station.

From the République – Cannes it is easy to get to the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes as well as the tourist office, around 15 minutes walk through the centre. On leaving the car park you go along Rue Docteur Calmette, towards Rue de Mimont, then you follow Boulevard d’Alsace which will bring you to Place de 18 Juin, not far from Cannes Station. From here take Rue du Maréchal Joffre and you will arrive directly at the Palais des Festivals de Cannes.

The other car park in Cannes that Parclick has to offer is the Croisette car park.

This is found by the Square du 8 mai 1945, along the Boulevard de la Croisette.

Although it is a bit further away from the Palais des Festivals, you have the advantage of being near the Plage du Festival, where you can go for a dip in the sea or pay the Village International Riviera a visit… or even go out and admire the view from Croisette point!

Born in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival attracts thousands of people every year, including film stars, journalists, serious enthusiasts or those who are just a bit curious. The Palais des Festivals des Congrès is the beating heart of this cinematic celebration, with an enormous media following. It is at the Palais des Festivals where they have the famous Montée des marches and they do the main showings. At the end they hold a closing ceremony during which the the Palma de Oro give out numerous awards to those who have contributed.

Surrounding the Palais des Festivals you will find the Marché du Film, which makes up part of the Village International Riviera the Village International Pantiero, where various professionals and enthusiasts of the world of cinema gather. If you are looking to make some contacts in the industry, this is a great place to go and meet the right people.

Amongst the participants for the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, from 17th – 28th May 2017, are directors of the highest calibre, such as Xavier Dolan and Pedro Almodovar.

However, the Palais des Festivals is not the only place you can have fun at the Cannes Film Festival. They put on some of the showings for free in the open air, organised by the Cinéma de la Plage de Cannes, on the Macé beach. So, whichever car park in Cannes you decide to choose, you will always be a part of the Film Festival!
